style="FONT-SIZE: 14px; LINE-HEIGHT: 170%">Chinanews, October 16 – China plans
to launch Chang'e-1, its first lunar orbiter, between October 22 and 25.
Currently, the Xichang Satellite Launching Center is busy preparing for the
event.

The Changzheng-3 rocket used to launch Chang'e-1 has been installed, and
the Chang'e-1 has been put in it. Now the final test is in process.

Xichang Satellite Launching Center has updated its No.2 and No.3
launching towers to make sure that both of them can fulfill the task of sending
Chang'e-1 into space. Particularly the No.3, it has become one of the most
advanced of its kind after the upgrade, and it will be used to launch Chang'e-1
several days later if everything goes smoothly.
