Chinanews, Shanghai, October 18 – The
9th Shanghai International Performance Trade Fair was kicked off in Shanghai
Exhibition Center on October 16, with original Chinese stage arts being among
the hottest ones.
Performance organizers and producers from all over the world have come to
the fair, forming several huge exhibiting zones.
Only a few years ago, Chinese stage arts were considered as nothing but
box office poison by performance organizers worldwide, but now they have become
the favorite of audiences both at home and abroad.
Take the traditional songs and morin khuur performance as an
example, which is very rare in Western countries. A performance organizer
produced a Mongolian traditional dance show in North European countries and it
was a great hit.
“Chinese stage arts have become more and more exciting,” said a
performance organizer from the US. Since 1 or 2 years ago, artists from China
have successfully won the heart of American audiences and critics.
“I hope I can discover more performances saturated with both traditional
Chinese flavor and modern tang this time,” said the organizer.
