Chinanews, Tianjin, October 17 –
Tianjin Municipal Academy of Social Sciences has done a research to find the
adults view on kids, finding that 76.4% of the respondents complain about
today’s kids being too “mature.” 15.3% of the respondents are even shocked by
kids when they talk and act like adults.
Most of the respondents are parents in their 30s or 40s. 26.3% of them
believe kids today are more mature than the kids of 10 years ago, when the word
“mature” absolutely had a derogatory meaning if used to say of a child. Today,
most kids will take this word as a praise, for it means that they are more sleek
and usually have a higher prestige among their friends.
By the way, most teachers in elementary schools and junior highs
appreciate “mature” students, for they make their teaching jobs easier.
Today many kids have already learned the importance of good personal
relations, especially with authorities.
Is it really good for kids to lose their innocence so early? This is the
question.
