Chinanews, Jinan, October 18 – Ms Du,
who works in a law firm in Jinan, Shandong Province, was very glad to hear that
her daughter, a college junior, had her first boyfriend, and happiness was
shared by her husband.
Traditionally, Chinese believe it is improper for young people not well
settled into careers of their own to think about love affair, but today they
find it in a different light, as it has become more and more difficult for young
people to find marriage partners after their heart after they leave college.
“Just take a look at those over-crowded dating parties today and you’ll
know it is necessary for young people to think about marriage early. By the way,
I know several good girls without boyfriend,” said Du.
“We thought that there would be nothing to worry about if my kid works
hard enough, but now he is just too busy to have a girlfriend,” complained
another parent.
According to several dating agencies in Jinan, a lot of parents of young
people in their early 20s have already signed up for services of the matchmaking
agencies. The situation is really difficult.
